List of things at sea with a tent. How to organize a savage vacation for the first time? What to take with you when you go to the beach

Summer is a wonderful time, it immediately pulls you to the sea. I want to tell you about the rest in tents on the seashore.

This kind rest is suitable, both for a group of friends, and for family and romantic holidays.

If you have not tried to travel with tents, then this article will definitely come in handy.

Why go to the sea with a tent?

Pros of rest in tents "savages":

  1. The beach and the sea are at your disposal. No one pours sand on the bedspread, you can play ball with your company and at the same time not bother anyone.
  2. Rest from daily worries and the usual rhythm of life, reunion with nature.
  3. Financial savings.

Minuses:

  1. Lack of usual comfort - toilet, shower, electricity, internet.
  2. You need to plan what you need on vacation.
  3. Insects and small animals.

How to choose a place to stay with tents?

On the seafront near settlements there are always places where you can set up camp with tents.

There are specially designated camping sites, as a rule, they charge a fee for entry or for the number of days you spend there. In such areas there are toilets, showers, fresh water, and garbage is also removed there.

If there are no specially equipped places in your area, you yourself will need to take care of garbage collection and equipping a place for a toilet and a shower.

Do not set up tents near private areas, such as protected fields, it is better to choose a place further away. It is not advisable to drive too far from settlements so that you can go to the store if necessary or ask for help if, for example, the car gets stuck in the sand.

What to bring?

What you will take with you, of course, depends on the company, whether there are children and how many days you are going to rest. Here's an example of what you might need:

  1. The tent is where you will sleep.
  2. An awning that needs to be pulled up to hide from the sun at its peak. Umbrellas are also good, but they are not as efficient.
  3. Inflatable mattress, during the day you can swim on it on the waves, and sleep at night.
  4. Table and chairs.
  5. Barbecue and firewood (charcoal). If you plan to sit by the fire in the evening and fry a barbecue. Be careful with fire!
  6. Taganok and gas cylinder. If you eat for more than two days, then they will definitely be needed to prepare a hot meal.
  7. Think about the preservation of food in nature and about soft drinks. A car fridge will do, but don't forget the car's battery. You can also buy refrigerator bags or build a refrigerator from a box and foam.
  8. Shovel - for falling asleep a fire, etc.
  9. Fresh water for cooking and personal hygiene.
  10. Crockery, cauldron for cooking on a fire.
  11. First aid kit. Let it not be useful, but it should be. Put in it necessarily disinfectants, bandages, cotton wool, poisoning pills, painkillers, antiallergic drugs.
  12. Spray against mosquitoes and ticks.
  13. Sunscreens.
  14. Personal hygiene products.
  15. Flashlight with extra batteries.

When going on vacation with tents, the question often arises, what to take with you from food?

The main thing is not to take perishable products with you!

Several options for what to take with you from food:

  • vegetables and fruits;
  • pasta / cereals they can be cooked on a taganka or on a fire;
  • stew, raw smoked sausage;
  • barbecue meat;
  • bread, and bakery products;
  • salt pepper;
  • water for drinking.

Feel like a real "savage" and try to get food yourself. If you are a good swimmer and diver, fish for crabs, rapans or shrimp.

Taking special accessories with you, you can catch sea fish and cook delicious fish soup for dinner.

See photo below:

Dinner preparation. Chicken kebab.

Our first catch of shrimp (on the left hand) and glosik (on the right hand)

The shrimp lives in the sea mud, that's where we were looking for it

Fishing

These are seafood, they make a wonderful salad.

A few tips that might come in handy:

  1. Set up your tent away from the water! If a storm or high tide starts at night, the water will not reach the tent.
  2. Choose dishes with lids - and cups and plates, in order to avoid the ingress of flies and other insects.
  3. Cover the car with an awning.
  4. Customize your washbasin fresh water. Alternatively, you can hammer a stick and screw a plastic water bottle to it.
  5. Do not stay long in the scorching sun.
  6. You can not take a sleeping bag in summer, but take light blankets.
  7. Look at the stars at night.
  8. Pick up your trash.
  9. Be careful on the water.

You can tell your experience of camping in the reviews!

Decided! You are about to travel to the USA. Tickets have been bought, the route has been drawn up, housing in the cities has been booked and you understand that, for example, in national parks you want to stop for overnight camping. What do you need to bring with you to be ready for hiking conditions?

I’ll note right away, since we are talking about campsites in relation to travel in the USA, then the set of things will be somewhat different from the classic hiking trip. Why? Yes, if only because you will be transporting things from place to place by car, which means that there can be much more of them than if you had to carry them everywhere on yourself. You know, with thirty kilograms behind you, there’s no time for romance and landscapes))

So, let's move from words to deeds and draw up list of essentials(checklist) that you will need in the campground and hike. Plus, I'll show you what we took.

Essentials

  • Tent

The choice of tents is now huge and sometimes it is very difficult to decide which one is needed. In my opinion, the main thing is that it is waterproof. It is even better if it is two-layered: mesh + cape. Such a tent is better ventilated and saves from condensation.

Size, in fact, does not matter if you are going to transport things by car everywhere and do not plan to go on a long-term trip. hiking when you have to carry the equipment on yourself. In this case, you can not waste time on trifles and take a larger tent. As experience has shown, this is more convenient than crowding in a small one.

For example, we bought a triple tent before the trip Coleman Hooligan. When they collected it for the first time, still at home, it seemed huge. I thought that we, so small with such a big tent, would be laughed at by everyone in the campsites. It turned out that the people do not limit themselves at all, sometimes erecting entire tented palaces. In a large tent it is more convenient to change clothes, have breakfast or dinner in bad weather, and it’s just more free.

For all two months, our tent did not let us down even once, having withstood both rain and wind.

Tent price: 90 dollars.

Getting to know the equipment

If you bought new tent, and even more so, if this is your first tent in your life, practice assembling it in advance so as not to suffer later somewhere in the park, and even in the dark. For example, once Andryusiks and I watched how four guys assembled a freshly unpacked tent for more than an hour, although there were 10-15 minutes of work there.

  • Sleeping bag

A sleeping bag is easier to choose than a tent. The main thing is not to freeze. As it turned out, in some national parks it can be very, very cold at night. For example, in Yosemite in July, the temperature dropped to +3 in the morning. So it is better to choose a sleeping bag according to the extreme temperature value that you expect to face.

We bought the simplest sleeping bags from the same company. Coleman and survived with them all the American "frosts", however, sometimes they slept in pants, fleece and woolen socks))

Sleeping bag price: 30 and 35 dollars (except for the color they did not differ in anything).

  • Rug

A rug (some also call it “foam”) is a necessary and useful thing, because it helps to smooth out all the roughness of pebbles, twigs and bumps digging into your back, plus sleeping on it is much warmer than without it. If you roll up its upper part with a roll, then it is quite possible to do without a pillow.

We also took the simplest rugs.

Mat price: 12 dollars.

  • Headrest/inflatable pillow

You can take it, you can not take it, it depends on your desire. As I wrote above, you can get by with a rug, you can use, for example, a jacket, fleece, shirt, towel instead of a pillow.

We used improvised means.

  • Backpack

If you are going to go on small hikes or just walk a lot, you can not do without a backpack. I don't mean big backpacks for everything, they can ride with you in suitcases and whatever. We are talking about small backpacks that are convenient to take with you on radial sorties, so as not to carry food, water, sunscreen, a camera in your hands when you do not need it, etc. Andriusiks and I each had a personal backpack.

This is a set of things that everyone who is going to stay at campsites will definitely need. Below I will list no less necessary accessories, but their set may vary depending on personal wishes and preferences.

Kitchen utensils and supplies

One way or another, you have to prepare. Going somewhere for breakfast and dinner every time, wasting precious time on this, as for me, is not very convenient. If it’s a day or two, then it’s still possible, but if you spend the night in campsites all the time, then it’s more convenient not to depend on all sorts of cafes and restaurants. And what is the point of camping then? It's so romantic to wake up, wash up, immediately, without leaving the tent, have breakfast and go towards the impressions. So what do you need?

It is better to buy in advance and with a margin in some supermarkets such as Walmart, Safeway, etc. Why? Then what's adjacent to national parks small shops in small towns are unlikely to please with their prices. Almost all of them live at the expense of tourists and use it to the fullest.

  • Water

Water should always be in reserve, there is never a lot of it. We used both the water that was collected in the parks (it is clean and suitable for drinking and cooking) and bottled. If you're worried about park water, you can use special cleaners, but I think it's easier to buy water in a store in this case. We carried one large spare canister with us and constantly bought packages with small half-liter bottles (they are convenient to use, and you can always throw them into a small backpack with you).

  • Plate or gas-burner

Are you planning to cook yourself? You will have to purchase a compact gas stove or burner. Yes, all organized campsites have a place for a fire and a grill grate where you can cook, but making a fire every time you just want to boil water or quickly cook pasta is inconvenient to say the least.

We bought a gas burner, or rather two. At first we bought a small one, but it turned out that it was not the most convenient, because the flame "hit right on target", a small spot in the center of the pan, not heating the bottom evenly. Later we purchased a large burner, which turned out to be too large for our saucepans)) We never found our ideal option.

For burners, you will need gas cylinders with a mixture of butane and propane. It is better to buy immediately with a margin, because in some places they could not be found in stores. Bought mostly from Walmart.

Prices: small burner - $11, large burner - $8, small gas bottle - $5, large - $10.

  • GPS And car navigator

GPS is a faithful assistant in any journey. We have been using the Garmin Oregon 450 navigator for a year now and have no idea how we can navigate without it. It is thanks to this faithful friend that we can go anywhere and not be afraid that we will get lost. We use it for walking.

For a comfortable car ride, it is desirable to have a car navigator with a large screen, otherwise it will be difficult to drive in a foreign country. If you rent a car at a rental office, then, most likely, the navigator will be attached to it.

  • Compass

We did not take a compass as unnecessary, but if you are going to climb into some distant distances and are not equipped with a navigator, take it. Would it come in handy? For example, there are not so many trees in Death Valley, especially with moss, by which you can determine the cardinal points))

  • Guide

A guidebook is a good and useful thing not only while preparing for a trip, but during it. You can always peep technical information: how to get there, work schedule, where to spend the night, etc. As usual, one of the best travel guides - Lonely Planet. This and other Russian-language guides can be bought, for example, or.

First Aid

  • first aid kit

It is not necessary to take a full set of medicines with sleeping pills and motion sickness medications with you on hikes, but hydrogen peroxide, bandages and something for pain relief is always better to have at hand, that is, at the bottom of a small backpack. Little whether that? “Fell, woke up, plaster…”

It is also better to grab a patch, especially if you bought new sandals or sneakers before the trip.

I have a raincoat in the photo. And what? Quite a first aid in the rain))

A first aid kit is a first aid kit, but before the trip it doesn’t hurt to take out travel insurance, you never know. Medicines and medical services in the States are oh so expensive, it’s better not to save a few thousand rubles.

You can choose insurance using this convenient form:

protective equipment

  • Sunscreen/spray

used creams banana boat, brought back from Mexico, then bought in the States the spray of the same name for 8 bucks. By the way, it protects well from the sun and is pleasant to use.

  • Repellent for mosquitoes and other midges

Mosquitoes hardly bothered us, with rare exceptions. The spray was used on the strength of a couple of times.

  • Sunglasses

Even if you do not like this accessory, it is better to wear it, because glasses protect your eyes not only from the sun, but also from dust. In any supermarket you can buy tolerable glasses for 10-20 dollars.

  • Lip balm

Even Andriusiks used my lip balm, because when you walk all day long under the scorching sun, your lips, like your skin, burn without protection. Most unpleasant sensations!

  • Hat/Panama/Bandana

Without a headdress, it’s generally better not to stick out in the parks. Earning heatstroke is easy!

I note that in some parks in souvenir shops they sell the cutest hats (about $ 30). I just bought one of these at the Dead Horse Park Visitor Center.

Additional useful things

  • Personal items(everyone will figure it out for himself, as well as with clothes)

Most importantly, do not forget warm clothes: if possible, grab not only a jacket / fleece, but also a light jacket. Warm socks are also very useful. It gets very cold in the mornings and evenings (Yosemite, Bryce Canyon, Sequoia).

  • Towel
  • Toothbrush and paste
  • Toilet paper
  • Personal hygiene items

All sorts of wet wipes, antibacterial liquids will come in handy, because, firstly, not all campsites have water, and secondly, these things are convenient to use directly on the trip.

Sit under the starry sky, make a fire, sing songs with a guitar, eat barbecue, what else is needed for happiness. Almost everyone who travels seaside vacation, let's say, "savage", already has experience in the rest in this way. Because it will be difficult for absolutely newcomers in this business and it is best to go with those who have already rested and know how to behave in this or that situation.

Naturally, there is a standard list of things that you need to take with you to the sea, but it’s worth remembering to pack better without fanaticism. You don't need three pots, five plates and eight spoons. You can take a bowler hat, a spoon and just in case some plate. Many take diving goggles- this convenient beach accessory will always come in handy at sea. Also, a tourist should always have a camping knife in his arsenal so that you can cut food or, for example, cut something that you can get confused about or you are already confused about.

Don't forget anything

Be sure to take special tourist matches that have a larger supply of sulfur at the end and are saturated with a special mixture for better burning. In addition, do not hope that summer is a time of intense heat and warm clothes may not be useful to you. You are deeply mistaken, the climate near the sea is very capricious, today it can be terrible heat, and tomorrow it will be cold and rainy, so be sure to take some warm clothes with you.

Fans of reading in the evenings should not take a whole library of books with them, they will take up extra space in your backpack. Just buy yourself an e-book and it will solve all your problems. Download there as many books as you need and that's it. E-books are now very variable in price. You should probably not buy something too expensive, because you will overpay for the brand.

So remember when you go a savage on the sea, you should not take a bunch of unnecessary things with you that will make it difficult to move around, and you will get tired more often and become just a burden for your friends. After all, you yourself are uncomfortable.

What to take with you, how not to spoil the rest. Going on vacation, you should think in advance about the composition of your luggage. It is best to write everything down and take the list with you so that when you return, you would not forget any things at the resort. Someone picks up a whole mountain of suitcases with them, someone tries to take the bare minimum with them, but for both of them there are several things that you need to take on vacation.

When making lists of what to take on a trip, we do not always think through everything thoroughly. Let's collect experience seasoned travelers and try to use it.

What kind of things to take on a trip, other than those that come to mind by default? There are a huge number of inventions by experienced travelers. These little things, insignificant at first glance, make the road easier and allow you to get to your destination with maximum comfort. These are not only banal suitcases, personal hygiene products, documents and money, but also all kinds of inventions that make a trip or flight more fun and easier. What do you need to take on a trip? How do you organize the collection of things so that you have a solution for any unforeseen situation? How do people learn to be clever if they don't have an unlimited amount of money?

What do you need to take on a trip?

  • Travel set of small bottles and jars. Everyone knows about the restrictions on carrying liquids on airplanes. We do not always take luggage with us, half of which is the contents of the bathroom shelves. Sets of travel containers for shampoos, creams and various lotions are sold in special shops for travelers, in perfumery and cosmetic stores, in hardware and cosmetic departments of hypermarkets, in online stores and in tiny “On the Road” shops at train stations and airports.
  • Atomizers are very convenient when traveling - small containers (5–10 ml) for eau de toilette and perfumes. They close tightly and allow you not to carry large heavy bottles with you.
  • Compact umbrella. Such an umbrella literally looks like a case for glasses, but it performs its functions properly. At the same time, it weighs nothing and takes up half a pocket.
  • Wet wipes or disinfectant solution. Both are now sold in almost any store.
  • Wet toilet paper. Not always and not everywhere during the trip there is an opportunity to put yourself in order. Wet toilet paper is a wonderful invention of mankind. It is sold in the same place as wet wipes, the easiest way to find it is in a hypermarket.
  • If you are going on vacation with overnight stays in hotels, it is very convenient to take a small electric kettle with a capacity of no more than half a liter. You can always warm water for tea or coffee.
  • For those who make long flights, the set "blindfold + earplugs + soft slippers + inflatable pillow under the neck" is indispensable. This set will help you fall asleep in any circumstances and not suffer during a long sitting.
  • A nylon bag (also often called an eco-bag) takes up very little space, is light and comfortable. It can be folded spontaneous purchases, sweaters, removable shoes.
  • A thin but wide soft scarf (for example, made of viscose). It will protect your neck well from drafts, you can hide with it on a plane or train, you can cover an unexpected stain on your clothes with it. On occasion, they can wrap a fragile purchase. It will also serve you on the beach as a pareo or a skirt.
  • Dry shampoo. Not everyone is comfortable with the feeling of hair after a night on the train or a few hours of dry airplane air. Dry shampoo allows you to "wash" your hair in two minutes.
  • Tee and adapters for connectors. Now everyone has several units of different equipment. Multi adapters make life very easy, because cameras, phones and players tend to run out of power at the most inopportune moment.

What tricks will make the trip easier?

After we figured out what things to take on a trip, let's talk a little about what tricks make traveling easier.

  • Divide small money into pockets. Let a few bills always lie in your purse, and in a suitcase, and in a jacket pocket, and in a holder for documents. Including stock up on metal trifles - it tends to turn out to be needed at the most unexpected moment.
  • Clothes of their crinkled fabrics - The best way always look fresh. In addition, such things can be folded as compactly as possible.
  • Learn to pack small. Travel experience will help with this (when all things go on the back), and modern inventions like mesh translucent bags, in which it is convenient to fold clothes, for example, one group (underwear). When things in a suitcase or bag are not just in piles, but are distributed among many handbags and travel bags of different sizes, it is very easy to take them out without disturbing the rest.
  • Seasoned travelers who encounter emergencies always have paper copies of all documents with them, lying separately from the originals. It makes sense to keep scanned copies of all important papers on a laptop or phone.

Rest in tents

Probably, each of us, at least once in a lifetime, went or would like to go to rest with tents in nature. Such a holiday, of course, is not to everyone's liking. The comfort to which we are accustomed is left aside.
Only the most necessary and important at hand. But, this “most necessary” is sometimes very difficult to choose, especially for those who are going to arrange such a vacation for the first time. In no case should you forget something or, conversely, gain too much. So, what to take with you.

First you need to choose a comfortable roomy backpack.

Then, choose comfortable tents for outdoor recreation. But that's not all.

Sleeping bags or blankets will come in handy in order to be comfortable during sleep. However, if you do not want to feel small pebbles under you, bumps (if the place is not completely flat), you can take air mattresses or gymnastic rugs with you.

In addition to all of the above, please bring with you:
1. shovel (you can use it to dig a hole for the toilet), hatchet; There is an interesting thing: a hatchet shovel (2 in 1) can be found in a sports or hunting store.
2. a pot, knives, a cutting board, an opener, a ladle, glasses, plates, spoons, forks - for cooking;
3. rope, flashlight, matches, dishwashing detergent, oilcloth;
4. a first aid kit, it should contain all the necessary medicines, such as remedies for pain in the stomach, head, allergies, burns;
5. personal hygiene products;
6. insect bites and sunscreen (not unimportant);

Before you put any of the products, make a list in advance in order not to drag too much. Of the often forgotten little things - sugar, salt, tea, coffee, pepper, lavrushka. Do not forget to take enough drinking water (it will not be very pleasant to drink from a river, lake).
When compiling a wardrobe, it is worth considering what kind of weather is planned during a camping holiday. Regardless of it, you need to take a windbreaker, a warm jacket. If you plan to swim, then take a swimsuit and a towel. Think carefully about places to camp with a tent.

Also, bring a change of clothes and shoes in case you get wet. Headwear is also important - a scarf, a cap, panama. In addition, all clothing should be comfortable and durable.
Also try to bring a wristwatch or an alarm clock. This will be very useful to you if you need to catch the train back to the bus. Phone, for lack of electrical outlet, will be discharged or, even worse, will be out of the network access area.

I hope these tips will help you with the collection, if, of course, you are going to get some fresh air and spend a few days away from the city!

When you go to rest as a savage, you need to think through everything, that is, where and on what you will sleep, what to eat, drink, how much money to take with you and where to go.
That's not big list, which we use when collecting for vacation:
1. tent, foam, or air mattress, pillows, blanket (because it can be very cool at night)
2. canister 20 l. with water (drink, wash);
3. a very handy thing a small gas burner, because there is not always time and desire to make a fire, but in the morning you really want to eat, and dry bread gets boring, then we usually cook pasta with stew
4. hygiene products
5. non-perishable products (canned food, etc.)

In general, camping means a base for autotourists, but in our country this word usually means going out into the countryside by car by a large company or the whole family, usually with an overnight stay. Here are quality options from a German manufacturer high peak:

Kitchen. Food and drink.

A bonfire is, of course, good, romance. But it is far from always and not everywhere that it can be ignited, in addition, it is harmful to the environment and a fire hazard.
