Betta village: reviews from vacationers and photos. Betta Farm: romance of solitude near Gelendzhik Beta black

The Caucasus remains in the memory of many as a narrow strip of rocky beach, pinched between the sea and the railroad bed. Trains roaring past give the impression of being in a busy train station rather than the welcome solitude of a coastal paradise.

Betta Farm

When considering various options when choosing a place for a summer holiday, you should take a closer look at the favorable geographical location of the village of Betta, reviews of which will leave the most favorable impressions. Located far from industrial cities, the village attracts with its natural beauty and is considered the most secluded on the Black Sea coast of the Caucasus. A place where you can simply forget for a certain period that somewhere cities are noisy, cars are rushing along highways, factories are smoking, and people are crowded in stuffy city transport - this is the Betta farm.

Transport

The village is only 52 km away from the railway, which is an important condition when choosing the Betta farm as a holiday destination. Reviews from vacationers talk about its convenient location relative to the Gelendzhik airport. Public transport regularly operates services connecting the village with major coastal cities, making it easy to get to the train stations.

Ecology

It does not carry oil residues onto the beaches of small shiny pebbles, since the loading docks of the port city are located at a considerable distance from Betta. The village is surrounded by a mountain forest, where you can take walks, get acquainted with the wild southern nature, and breathe clean mountain air, which makes your vacation in Betta complete. Reviews from numerous tourists eloquently describe all the delights of traveling along mountain paths, without which the sensations would not be so complete.

Attractions

The terrain where the village is located is mountainous, apparently, this is the reason for its name, which comes from the Adyghe “bete” - “humpbacked”. Walking through the picturesque valley of the Betta River on foot, on horseback or in a jeep will give you a lot of unforgettable impressions. In the vicinity of the farm you can find dolmens and caves, structures reminiscent of past civilizations. You can visit these sites on your own or on an excursion with a guide who will tell you in detail and interestingly about all the attractions of this corner of the planet. The western end of the village is crowned by Cape Chugovkopas. Having climbed onto it, you can admire the panorama unfolding from above. Mountains, forest, sea, like a colored precious canvas thrown at your feet, spread out right below you.

Boarding houses

From the beginning of June to the end of September, the boarding house “Yuzhny” (Betta) opens its hospitable doors to everyone. Reviews present it as a family-friendly place. There is a well-equipped beach 150 meters from the main building of the boarding house. Visitors will be offered sun loungers, where they can sit comfortably and watch the rolling sea wave for hours. There are also umbrellas here to save you from the scorching rays of the sun on a hot afternoon. You can comfortably sunbathe on the sun loungers. From the shore there is a beautiful view of the open sea, especially picturesque in the moments before sunset.

The remoteness of the village from large populated areas does not in any way affect the comfort, service, or food of vacationers who chose to vacation in Betta. Reviews from tourists give an idea of comfortable and clean rooms designed for 2-3 people. Each room has an open balcony overlooking relict forests or the sea surface. The bathroom is equipped with a bathtub and hot and cold water is supplied around the clock.

When choosing a vacation spot, special attention is always paid to food. The opportunity to have a tasty and nutritious lunch or dinner sometimes outweighs many other benefits. At the Yuzhny boarding house, meals are served three times a day. A variety of Russian and national cuisine is served at the table.

Having once visited the resort village of Betta, reviews of which really evaluate the quality of service and affordability of prices, vacationers become regular clients of holiday homes, camps, private hotels located in this place to spend their summer holidays there. The variety of offers allows you to choose accommodation at any price, so the resort has become popular for recreation among young people, families with children, and newlyweds.

Beach

The village beach is equipped with everything necessary. After a sea swim, you can freshen up and wash off the salt from your skin under a fresh shower. The entertainment program will satisfy any age category of vacationers in the Betta farm. Reviews of water rides and slides can be heard from both adults and children. Ride at crazy speed, cutting through the surface of the water, raising thousands of salty sprays, on a jet ski - this entertainment is intended for the strong and daring. Swim behind the buoys on a boat or catamaran and dive into the slightly greenish surface of the sea abyss, fly with a parachute over the beautiful blue-green world of a resort town - such entertainment will allow you to remember your vacation on the seashore for a long time on long winter evenings.

The romantic setting of a warm southern evening, when the sea quietly whispers its eternal music and the starry sky is reflected in it, has attracted people for many centuries. Sitting on the shore, listening to the sound of the waves and the distant sounds of a disco that takes place every evening right on the shore, you can relax and dream about the future.

Private sector

Additional opportunities for successful summer holidays on the coast are provided by the private sector in the Betta farmstead. Reviews about accommodation in small ones are very positive, since prices here are very affordable and flexible depending on seasonal fluctuations in the influx of vacationers. In September or June, renting a house is 2-3 times cheaper than at the height of the season.

The private sector of the village of Betta, represented by modern, well-appointed buildings, reviews of which are exclusively positive, is the complete opposite of the cramped plywood rooms with outdoor amenities in which vacationers spent their holidays in Soviet times. The private sector today consists of separate spacious rooms equipped with split systems, LCD TVs, showers and toilets located directly in the room. Many private individuals, following the needs of guests, provide them with meals, which are included in the price of the room. Meals can be individual and prepared to order or common to all vacationers in a private hotel. Customer service, at their request, may include transport services for individual delivery from the airport or train station to the hotel and back, as well as excursions along selected routes.

Betta Features

In stories about the village of Betta, reviews of walking along the coastal strip, scuba diving, and local flora occupy one of the first places. Traveling along the sea will give you the joy of unexpected finds and the opportunity to sit by a small fire at night. Relict junipers, evergreen thujas, acacia - a beautiful stamen with an unforgettable aroma - such a wealth of diverse flora presented in one place is perhaps not often seen even in tropical latitudes. For diving enthusiasts, Betta will give a unique opportunity in Russia to study the bottom relief with its underwater world in close proximity to the shore, because the rocks go under the water quite sharply.

Betta combines all the qualities necessary for a good rest.

The tradition of assigning definitions to one or another Russian resort, in this case, is absolutely justified. Indeed, a farm called Betta deserves a personal sign. This lovely corner on the Black Sea coast of the Krasnodar Territory resembles a beautiful nature reserve. Surrounded by incredible nature, it certainly feels apart. However, such a wonderful place in the vicinity of the legendary Gelendzhik is by no means forgotten and certainly does not look abandoned. Separated from neighboring territories by enchanting thickets, the southern village does not refuse the regular influx of tourists. Relying on the attractiveness of its own ecology, its open spaces, nevertheless, do not refuse the massive excitement on the part of “temporary migrants”. However, while opening the door to progress, this wonderful Kuban settlement actively prevents industrialization. No, people here do not live in dugouts, but no deforestation is planned. Even the unique landscape encrypted in the title (translated from Adyghe means “many humps”) is not planned to be leveled and deprived of its corporate identity. The pleasant difference in altitude was appreciated by many vacationers who found themselves here during the long-awaited vacation. In a word, come and appreciate the delightful and unique landscape for yourself.

Until the end!

Gelendzhik has taken truly the best of the best under its protection. The village called Betta is, of course, also included in the mentioned list. As usual, the formal justification for tourist attractiveness is transport accessibility. In this sense, we are not talking about time costs. Basically, you should pay attention to the reality of direct transfers from major cities. This Kuban farm certainly provides such an opportunity, even if it is the final destination on the route of regional buses.

  • Of course, traveling by plane involves a flight to Gelendzhik, and then a transfer to land transport (about 50 km to Betta).
  • By bus you can make a transfer from Krasnodar, Novorossiysk, the already mentioned Gelendzhik and from many other regional cities.
  • The road to Betta from Gelendzhik will take less than an hour, from Novorossiysk - about an hour and a half, and from Krasnodar - about two and a half.

Southern Forest Climate

Sometimes, when discussing the tourist attractiveness of the Betta farm, a reasonable question arises about the climatic features of this settlement. Adjacent to mountain ranges and framed by forested areas, the wonderful Kuban resort does not at all hide vacationers from the sun's rays. Yes, of course, walls of natural origin influence the climatic conditions of these places, but it is impossible to grasp the negative aspects of this. The similarity with Mediterranean indicators is complemented by moderate temperatures. Although, we do not recommend counting on the absence of heat at the height of the season.

  • Already in the beginning of May, the thermometer can reach 30 degrees above zero.
  • However, in the period from May to August you should usually expect lower temperatures - more often the readings are around +25.
  • Autumn here is quite suitable for relaxation - the temperature remains at August levels until the end of September.

Fascinated by nature

Those who want to admire the pristine nature will certainly be delighted. The local areas present exquisite landscapes to the eyes of vacationers. There are groves and forests, and mountain blocks. The man did not destroy natural masterpieces for the sake of business and he turned out to be right. It is the landscapes that continue to attract tourists to this part of the Black Sea coast. Who knows whether the famous water area would have been able to cope with this task without such “help”.

  • This farm is surrounded on all sides by forests, in which mostly Crimean and Pitsunda pines grow.
  • The namesake of the famous Mount Ararat is located in these same areas.
  • Betta also has an abundance of dogwood groves.

Famous Betta Beach

The winding paths of the farm, in any case, will lead the tourist to the Black Sea. Needless to say, this part of the famous water area could not help but attract crowds of vacationers. The picturesque outlines of the reservoir are by no means false. The coast actually turns out to be simply incredible. Both the bathing areas and the adjacent areas are worthy of the highest praise. A certain rivalry with neighboring resorts does not allow Betta to relax. The Kuban expanses cannot be called deserted, and the obvious interest from an absolutely diverse public testifies to the level of service and other successes of the region. Well, head here and experience the true meaning of comfort, coziness and quality. We address these words to a charming village in the south of the Russian Federation.

  • Betta's beaches are very clean, equipped with a large number of high-quality structures for a comfortable stay (we're not just talking about sunbeds).
  • The surface of this part of the Black Sea coast mainly consists of pebbles, with occasional inclusions of sand.
  • The Black Sea here is by no means shallow, but going to the depths may seem quite lengthy to some.

Selecting a number

The economic strategy of resort towns is quite definite. There's nothing wrong with that. Making money from the tourism hype is considered a very respectable activity. This is exactly the situation in a place located in close proximity to the Black Sea coast. Betta Farm enjoys its geographical location, allowing holidaymakers to experience similar pleasures. Apartments of a high standard and adequate budget perfectly complement the natural beauty.

  • Guest houses, which usually show their clients real European-quality renovations, try to lure tourists with an adequate price tag - a night’s stay will cost about 1,300 rubles.
  • Hotel complexes with a large capacity also offer visitors reasonable prices - on average from 1,500 rubles.
  • Mini-hotels, in turn, offer similar comfort for less money - the cost varies by about 400-500 rubles.

Geography

The Betta farm is located on the coast of the Black Sea, at the mouth of the Betta River of the same name. Located 18 km south of the center of the rural district - Pshady and 48 km southeast of the city of Gelendzhik.

It borders on the lands of settlements: Krinitsa in the west and Arkhipo-Osipovka in the east. However, due to the fact that the farm is the final station of the road, there is no direct road to Arkhipo-Osipovka and from Betta you can only get there through Pshada or on foot along the coast and through the mountains.

The terrain is mountainous and hilly with many gorges and very rough terrain. The average altitude on the territory of the farm is about 45 meters above sea level. In the vicinity of the settlement, the highest point is Mount Ararat (350 m), located northeast of the village. Cape Chugovkopas is located at the western outskirts of the settlement.

In addition to the Betta River gorge, in the village there are several smaller rivers that flow into the Betta - Drobinskaya Shchel, Levaya Shchel, Pravaya Shchel, etc. They are narrow, remote gorges where rich flora and fauna are observed.

The climate is warm, with pronounced features of a Mediterranean climate with mild winters and warm summers. The average annual air temperature is about +13.0°C, with an average July temperature of about +23.5°C and January about +3.0°C. The water temperature during the swimming season is +22…+29°С. The average annual precipitation is about 1000 mm. In winter, there is virtually no sense of boron here, which sometimes disturbs Novorossiysk and Gelendzhik.

Etymology

The toponym is based on the Adyghe word bete, which translated means “humpbacked” or “many humps.” According to another version, the name of the toponym may contain an Adyghe family surname - Bete.

After the deportation of the aboriginal Adyghe population, the Greeks who settled here at the end of the 19th century renamed the name of the area to a form convenient for themselves - Betta.

Story

In 1895, eight versts from the village of Beregovaya, on the state lands of the Ministry of State Property, namely on the quitrent clause Beta, a peasant community (artel) of Russian settlers was organized: from four families from the Oryol province, one from the Kyiv province, three from the Kursk province, one family from Chernigov province and three Black Sea provinces. These migrant families, as annual tenants, occupied an area called “Wide Gap.” According to the testimony of Gelendzhik police officials and the local press of the late 19th century, Betta was founded by undocumented miners who arrived south from the central and southern provinces of Russia in the hope of finding casual work in these places.

On October 1, 1900, the artel, which had existed for five years, was divided into separate families. Thanks to private assistance, the settlers began to build. The public house was intended for a school when the village was formed. In the 1900s, each family was allocated land plots of 13.08 hectares by the Ministry of Agriculture and State Property. From Betta to Krinitsa, ten cultural areas were cut out, where construction began. At the same time, construction of the road to Krinitsa was carried out.

In 1917, the village of Betta was part of the Novorossiysk district of the Black Sea province.

On January 26, 1923, the Betta farm was part of the Gelendzhik district of the Black Sea district.

In 1937-1943, the Betta farm was part of the Beregovaya Village Council of the Gelendzhik District of the Krasnodar Territory.

In 1955, the Betta farm was transferred to the Pshad Village Council of the Gelendzhik District of the Krasnodar Territory.

On September 1, 1964, the Betta farm was part of the Pshadsky village council of the Tuapse district of the Krasnodar region.

In 1968-1988, the Betta farm was part of the Pshad Village Council of the Gelendzhik City Council of the Krasnodar Territory.

Since March 10, 2004, the Betta farm has been part of the Pshad rural district of the municipality of the resort city of Gelendzhik

On the last day of summer we went to the resort coastal village of the Krasnodar Territory - Betta. This resort town is located not so far from Gelendzhik. Holidays in the village of Betta are loved mainly by people who are looking for peace and do not like noise, wild crowds and high prices.

Betta is part of the resort area of Gelendzhik. I won’t say that from Gelendzhik to Betta it’s really that close, you have to drive 50 kilometers. This village is located in the mountains, in a very picturesque place.

How to get to Betta from Krasnodar

From Krasnodar to Betta we drove along the M4 highway towards Dzhubga. But you don’t need to get all the way to Dzhubga (Hallelujah! I can’t stand this road). There will be a further turn towards Arkhipo-Osipovka. Arkhipo-Osipovka is a large coastal village, almost a city with a bunch of hotels, entertainment, and a water park. Betta is located very close to Krinitsa.

The road to get there is very picturesque! Mountains, orchards with plums and apples. The plums had already been picked at the end of August, but the apples simply beckoned with their red barrels. But we are civilized people, we didn’t steal and pick apples from the orchards.

The village itself is very small, no more than 1000 people live there. It seems that they are all involved in organizing holidays for visitors. There are signs everywhere: “Housing for rent”, “Rooms”, etc. Most visitors rent private housing in the village of Betta. Although there are hotels and guest houses there too.

Sea and beaches in Betta

The sea is not visible from Betta itself. Look where the whole stream of tourists is heading, with bare bellies and inflatable rings under their arms, and feel free to follow them.

You just need to walk a little bit - and there you have it, the beach in Betta. Pebble, small, quite a lot of people despite the fact that tomorrow is September 1st. However, I already wrote about the velvet season on the Black Sea. I'm not the only one who loves him. Relaxing on the Black Sea in September is very cool.

My review: I personally would not go to Betta. Pebbles, small crowded beach, boring. Naturally, I don’t force my opinion on anyone. Judging by the number of vacationers, they quite like it there and have a wonderful time under the southern sun.

To be fair, it must be said that Betta has its advantages: firstly, vacationing there is cheaper than in Gelendzhik, for example, and secondly, the sea is cleaner, because Betta is a small village where there are no factories or large enterprises. And besides The central beach in Betta has a lot of beaches hidden in the rocks. They mainly belong to tourist centers and campsites. There are a lot of them on the coast from Arkhipo-Osipovka to Betta, choose which one you like best!

What to do in the village of Betta

To put it correctly, Betta is not even a village, but a farm. There are no more than a thousand local residents here. I don’t know what they do all year, but in the summer all the residents of Betta are retrained as tourist staff.

Therefore, Betta is a secluded Black Sea resort. There are enough people there at the height of the season, but not as much as in Gelendzhik.
The name Betta comes from the Adyghe word, translated - "humpbacked".

And now to the main thing - what to do in Betta? The nature here is magnificent! Junipers, Pitsunda and Crimean pines, thujas, acacias and other vegetation, plus rich gardens and vineyards - beauty! Walk, breathe, relax. And the sea is more or less clean and warm. So the holiday in Betta is rather quiet and vegetable. If you want noise and fun, Gelendzhik is nearby.

When you come to the village of Betta on vacation in 2019, you will be surprised at how slowly time passes here - you can enjoy unity with nature, put your feelings and thoughts in order without the bustle and noise of big cities. Houses and recreation centers are inexpensive - prices are quite affordable for a budget-conscious family. Young couples and families with children also come here.

When settling in Betta, you will not have any difficulty choosing a place to stay. The private sector plays a key role in providing accommodation for vacationers - rural one-story houses, neat guest houses and mini-hotels. On the territory of the village there is a large holiday home, as well as an equipped campsite for motor tourists. Most of the residential areas are located on a hill approximately 300m from the coast. The most expensive accommodation is offered in those hotels that are as close as possible to the coastline, but there are few of them.

How to get there

The location of Betta, like almost all small villages on the Caucasian coast, was determined by the presence of a river bed that flows here into the Black Sea. The water area of the village is located between two small capes, although the sea is considered open here. From Betta, Gelendzhik is approximately 53 km north. To the south, 10 km away is the larger village of Arkhipo-Osipovka, and the closest neighbor is the village of Krinitsa.

To get to the village, you can move from both the southern and northern sides.

Through the north:

  • get to Novorossiysk by train, then by bus to Gelendzhik, and then by minibus to Betta;
  • fly to Gelendzhik by plane and move from there to the village;

Through the south:

  • take the railway to Tuapse, and from there get to Pshada by any regular bus and take a taxi down to the coast;
  • You can only fly to Krasnodar by plane, and from there by bus via Arkhipo-Osipovka and Pshada.

general information

Legally, Betta is actually a farmstead. There are not even a thousand local people here. Although for a secluded resort this is probably a plus. The history of its formation dates back to 1896. According to the police of that time, miners began to settle in this area, looking for work on the southern borders. According to other sources, the settlement arose due to a split in the ranks of the Narodnaya Volya members who lived nearby in Krinitsa. In any case, Betta is a workers' village in the full sense of the expression. The name comes from the Adyghe word, which translates as “hunchbacked”. Either because the first settlers worked hard all their lives, or because of the terrain, which is quite hilly.

Holidays in Betta are a kind of beach resort green tourism. The local flora is the richest on the entire coast. Junipers, Pitsunda and Crimean pines, thujas, acacias and other vegetation, plus rich gardens and vineyards - with all this, the farm attracts vacationers no less than the Black Sea itself.

Things to do

There are no historical monuments on the farm, but you won’t be bored. In addition to the sea and the beach, there are many opportunities to take interesting walks along the nearby mountain slopes, cut by numerous gorges. After driving about 20 km, you will get to Pshada, where you can see dolmens of various periods and other remains of ancient architectural structures. In addition, the Pshad and Bigius waterfalls, a fishing farm, the remains of a Byzantine fortress - this and much more are just 15 minutes away. Gelendzhik is also nearby, just 40 km. from the resort.

Beaches

The line of beaches stretches inextricably from Krinitsa to Betta and further south, all the way to Arkhipo-Osipovka. Directly next to the village there is a natural beach, covered with small pebbles and sand. The central part stretches only 300m, but is fully equipped. But wild beaches are more popular here. Some have virtually no strip of land, and the rocky landscape immediately goes into the water. It is an ideal place to explore marine life and dive. The bottom relief can be quite sharp, which allows diving in close proximity to the shore. The camping beach is located further south, towards Krinitsa.

Latest reviews about holidays in Betta

It seemed that we had already been everywhere on the Black Sea coast of the Krasnodar Territory and then accidentally found out about Betta. We called the “Quiet Courtyard in Betta” and reserved a room. The hostess Inna, with a pleasant voice, spoke in great detail about the room and the rules of residence. Four of us came on vacation: me, my husband, my daughter and my grandson. We had a four-bed room with all amenities. The bed linen is new, very nice colors. Everything is very clean and tidy. Wi-Fi with good speed. Everything is provided for a comfortable stay, even a clothes dryer with clothespins (I always took them with me) and a fumigator. The yard amazes with the abundance of greenery, beautiful rose bushes and other plants. Convenient location of benches for relaxation. The kitchen is equipped with everything necessary for cooking, heating and eating food. There is a stationary grill. For children there is a very good playground with slides, swings, houses, etc. Free parking in the yard.
The sea is very clean, as is the beach. Dolphins often swam! There are many cafes and restaurants near the beach to suit every taste. The daughter and grandson explored the territory of the sanatorium on the mountain and the “wild” beach.
It takes 7-10 minutes to walk to the sea. There are taxis if it’s hard to walk up and down. They'll take you straight to the beach))
The owners are very intelligent and well-mannered people, very friendly and responsive. Many thanks to Inna and Sergei for a wonderful vacation and comfort. We decided to come on vacation in August.
